After 7 1/2 years of operation at El Torreon Hacienda, we have had to remove the Taos Mountain webcam. El Meze didn't want to stay involved with Taos webcam. Since the webcam was installed on the roof of what was then Taos MultiMedia Studio, the webcam posted an estimated 9,000,000 photographs of Sacred Taos Mountain on taoswebcam.com and was viewed by up to 5,000 visitors every month. This was a gift to everyone from my wife, the late Allyn Rose Ransom and my company Taos Music & Art, Inc. We are looking for a new home for the mountain webcam now and hope to bring this webcam back online so you can "get a hit off the mountain." Please enjoy looking through the other Taos area WebCams for Taos Ski Valley, Taos Plaza, Red River Ski Area, Angel Fire Ski Area, and Sipapu. Thanks for your love of this webcam over all these years. We are glad you've enjoyed it. Hopefully, a suitable location will be found and that “we'll get by with a little help from our friends.” :-) J. R. Ransom, January 15, 2011.
Painters and photographers often visit El Torreon Hacienda to enjoy this wonderful view. There are interesting things that can sometimes be seen in these photographs. There are almost always horses grazing in the field. Many animals including domestic animals such as horses, cattle, sheep, goats are in these fields. This area also sees bear, coyote, wild cats, eagles, hawks, nighthawks, and oh so many more species. Also in these photographs might be a person painting or walking, a car, or maybe something else. One of the workers mowing the back field actually "mooned" the camera a few years ago.
